I am calling to complain about a WVIK NPR report entitled “The Rise Of Halal Cuisine In An Age Of Islamophobia.” In this report, an analysis by the Council on American Islamic Relations is cited.
Specifically, WVIK says –
“The Council on American-Islamic Relations recorded a 65-percent jump in anti-Muslim bias incidents from 2014 to 2016, and the number of hate crimes in the first half of this year spiked 91 percent over the same period in 2016.”
However, if you, or anyone, including this reporter were to actually read CAIR’s paper, it is clear they are just making this up. CAIR includes in their statistics things that are not considered hate crimes by the police, or the people involved. In some cases, even local CAIR officials have acknowledged certain incidents are not hate crimes.
The focus of CAIR’s report is 2016, this is the same year as the deadliest terror attack in the US since 911, the Orlando Night Club Shooting. Just by taking CAIR’s word for things, one might get the impression that Muslims are being attacked by Americans at a record pace. However, just the opposite is true; Americans are being killed by Muslims at a record pace. There are no murders, rapes, or beatings reported by CAIR. Most of the hate crimes consist of internet postings.
Moreover, CAIR is a front for the terror group Hamas. Judge Jorge Solis wrote that the government had provided ample evidence of CAIR’s connection to Hamas. Indeed, the current executive director of CAIR National attended and led a summit meeting of Hamas leaders in this country where he said one of the groups goals should to give legitimacy to Hamas.
I am asking that WVIK not give legitimacy to CAIR without some mention of this nefarious group’s background.
